Ohio authorities have taken the rare step of revoking the operational license of a security firm involved with a high‑profile political campaign, following widely reported federal criminal investigations tied to one of its employees.

The company, ARK Protection Group, which provided private security services — including protective detail for Republican gubernatorial frontrunner Vivek Ramaswamy and his family — has lost its state license after a series of alarming developments involving its personnel.

State regulatory documents and news reports indicate that the Ohio Department of Public Safety acted to rescind ARK’s credential after what authorities characterized as serious failures in compliance and public safety standards — a decision that followed federal charges against a bodyguard who worked for the firm.

The controversy began late last year when Justin Salsburey, 43, a bodyguard employed by ARK Protection Group and assigned to the Ramaswamy family’s security detail, was arrested on federal narcotics charges including conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute large quantities of drugs through the U.S. postal system.

According to law enforcement affidavits, investigators tracked hundreds of parcels — approximately 261 — containing counterfeit OxyContin and other pills later found to include fentanyl, methamphetamine and other controlled substances, all sent to the home shared by Salsburey and his wife, Ruthann.
