A Priest Offered A Nun A Lift

“Father,” the nun said calmly, “remember Psalm 129?” Startled, the priest immediately pulled his hand back, embarrassed. He muttered an apology and focused on the road. But a few minutes later, temptation overcame him again, and his hand began to slide back up her leg.

Once more, the nun repeated firmly, “Father, remember Psalm 129?” This time, the priest quickly withdrew his hand, his face burning red. “Forgive me, Sister,” he stammered. “The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” They continued the ride in silence until finally arriving at the convent.

The nun stepped out gracefully without another word, leaving the priest both rattled and curious. As soon as he returned to the church, he rushed to his Bible, eager to see what Psalm 129 actually said. His eyes widened as he read the verse: “Go forth and seek; further up, you will find glory.” The priest couldn’t help but shake his head in disbelief.

Moral of the story: Always know your scriptures. You might miss out on a blessing if you’re not paying close attention.
