Authorities Share New Updates in the Search for Savannah Guthrie’s Mother
Nancy, 84, was last seen late Saturday evening, January 31, 2026, after family members dropped her off at her Tucson-area home. Concern grew the next morning when she failed to attend church. Relatives checked on her, and when they couldn’t find her, they contacted authorities. Investigators later confirmed that blood was discovered inside the home, though they have not said whose it was. Signs of forced entry were also reported, yet her phone, car, wallet, and other belongings were still there.
Officials from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department said they do not believe Nancy left on her own. She has mobility challenges and depends on daily medication for a serious condition. Missing those medications could quickly become dangerous, making the case even more urgent. Search efforts that first included drones and aircraft have now shifted toward gathering evidence, reviewing footage, and following tips from the community.
Officials say Nancy is mentally sharp and not known to wander, and they continue to follow every lead. With time being critical, investigators hope community cooperation will bring clarity, and most of all, bring Nancy home safely.
