I have never hung a door in my life.

It took me an hour and 40 minutes and two trips back to the store for the right screws.

I did it standing on a milk crate.

At the end of it, I opened that door and let it swing shut on its own.

It latched.

I stood on my own back step in the cold and listened to that door not tap.

That was the moment I finally cried.
