“Happy birthday to me,” my husband whispered before walking out the front door, leaving me bleeding and collapsing on the nursery floor right next to our premature baby. He didn’t care that I was dying; he had a VIP reservation at a five-star resort. Three days later, after walking out of the hospital ICU, he waltzed back home expecting a warm meal.
