I was cleaning the pool this morning when I suddenly noticed this.

Instead, the sight of it out of the water made the mystery even stranger.

The thin tail remained stretched behind the body.

It looked almost like some kind of worm attached to another creature.

Without knowing what I was looking at, it was easy to imagine something much more frightening than reality.
