My dad and I both work at the same hospital

“I wanted to apologize,” she says.

“I really messed this up.”

I lean back in my chair.

“Yeah,” I say gently. “You kind of did.”

She nods, accepting the honesty.

“I’ve already told a few people I got it wrong,” she says. “I’m going to make sure everyone knows.”
