Marcus stared at Cinder. “I used to play soccer.”

Jonah nodded. “I used to ride cutting  horses.”

“Can’t now?”

“No.”

The boy’s mouth twisted. “Then why are you here?”

Jonah reached up and unclipped the lead rope from Cinder’s halter. He coiled part of it and held the end out to Marcus. “Because moving a horse isn’t about legs.”
