doors opened again.

An elderly couple entered quietly.

Federal Judge Robert Bellamy.

And his wife, retired appellate attorney Margaret Bellamy.

The room rose to greet them.

As they slowly walked toward the head table…

Judge Bellamy suddenly stopped.

His eyes locked onto mine across the ballroom.
