Ryan sat down on the edge of the mat.
Not in the center.
Not where everyone had to see him.
At the edge.
He looked younger there.
Almost boyish.
For the first time, Daniel saw him not as loud and scary, but as someone who had built himself out of noise because silence made him nervous.
Thomas saw it too.
He picked up his canvas bag.
