I was cleaning the pool this morning when I suddenly noticed this.

beyond the facts.

In this case, the unknown organism became a parasite, an invasive species and something potentially deadly in my mind before I had any evidence supporting those possibilities.

The eventual explanation was much simpler.

It was an insect larva living the way it was designed to live.
